Solid Waste Management Services
The goal of the Town’s solid waste management services program is to maximize diversion from landfills in order to protect public health and safety, and the environment. The following hierarchy of solid waste management options is followed:
- Source reduction, to reduce the generation of waste
- Recycling and composting of materials
- Transformation of waste, such as waste-to-energy
- Disposal in a landfill, for management of remaining materials
Curbside Collection
West Valley Collection and Recycling has an exclusive contract to provide collection services for all residential and commercial trash, recyclables, and yard waste. To begin service, ask questions about the services available, or submit a service issue, call West Valley Collection and Recycling at (408) 283-9250. Debris Box Service
West Valley Collection and Recycling has an exclusive contract to provide debris boxes, also called “roll-off” boxes, in Los Gatos. It is a violation to rent a debris box from any other company. To request a debris box, call West Valley Collection and Recycling at (408) 283-9250.
Household Hazardous Waste
Many common household wastes, such as paint and old televisions, are banned by state law from disposal in the landfill. Many easy, low- and no-cost options are available for proper disposal of these wastes. For more information, click here.
