The Los Gatos and Monte Sereno Community Garage Sale gives participants a chance to clean out their garages, attics and closets, and keep those valuable items from going into the landfill.
How does the Annual Community Garage Sale work? Residents of Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and the unincorporated areas of the two cities register to hold garage sales at their homes, or join with neighbors to hold block sales. They choose the spot, the Town of Los Gatos buys the ads, participants keep the cash - it’s that easy!
The annual event is a partnership between the Town of Los Gatos, the City of Monte Sereno, and the Santa Clara County Recycling and Waste Reduction Program. It is a great way of bringing solid waste and recycling issues right into people’s homes, with an emphasis on reuse and giving rather than throwing away. Perhaps most important is the strong sense of community spirit. Everyone enjoys the opportunity to get acquainted with neighbors, build community trust, and spend quality time with family members.
